Motogadget Chrono Classic 2 speedometer for Triumph & BMW


We provide you with everything you need to install and connect the Motogadget Chronoclassic 2 speedometer to your Triumph Modern Classic motorbike.

The Chronoclassic 2 speedometer is a further development of the German motorbike accessories manufacturer Motogadget, which has been developed with more than 20 years of experience.
Classically elegant design paired with very high-quality materials and absolute high-end workmanship.

The elegant Chronoclassic 2 speedometer is probably the highest quality motorbike speedometer available on the market.
The speedometer has a complete metal housing and is manufactured entirely by Motogadget in Germany.
The classic round design (80mm diameter) paired with the flat housing (20mm depth) give the speedometer the perfect overall appearance and allow you to integrate it perfectly into your custom bike.

When switched off, a closed, black dial ensures the perfect look: modern, minimalist and timelessly classic at the same time. The digital display, a motogadget in-house development, consists of a matrix of 512 tiny, super-bright red LEDs and shines through the dial.

Perfectly readable in direct sunlight, the display has two lines. The top line shows the gear and speed and the bottom line shows the display values, which can be changed at the touch of a button. The illuminated pointer, perfectly illuminated backlighting and automatic brightness adjustment of the matrix LEDs ensure optimum readability even in dark surroundings.
The 11 indicator lights and the LED display are invisible when switched off.



Model-specific descriptions:

Triumph AC - Air-cooled models up to model year 2015
  • For all models that have a factory fitted speedometer with LCD display (kilometre counter), an additional break-out box and break-out box A are required for connection. These boxes can both be found under accessories in this description.
  • If your Triumph has a speedo worm from the factory, we offer the spacer (this allows you to remove the speedo worm). See accessories in this description.
  • Under accessories you will find a universal mounting plate to mount the speedo.
  • If the speedometer is not recessed in a lamp, we recommend ordering the outer cup as well.


Triumph LC - water-cooled models from 2016 onwards
  • To mount the Chronoclassic 2 speedometer on one of the water-cooled Triumph Modern Classic models, it is absolutely necessary to install the additional speedometer box LC and the breakout box A as well.
    These can be found under accessories in this description.
  • Among the accessories you will find a universal mounting plate to mount the speedo.
  • If the speedometer is not recessed in a lamp, we recommend ordering the outer cup as well.

With the Peak Mod Speedo Box LC it is possible to connect all Motogadget speedos to the water-cooled Triumph Modern Classic models (to date the boxes are not yet available for all Euro 5 models. But some are already available. To be on the safe side, you are welcome to ask us about availability for your motorbike before ordering). We have already fitted the box to several motorbikes ourselves and it works really well. The installation and wiring are really well described and easy to understand. You can also find the installation instructions and wiring diagram as a download in the downloads section of this description. This will give you an idea of the effort involved in advance. We recommend mounting the speedo box under the motorbike tank, as there is enough space and all cables are easy to route.The box is available as a single and dual version. Single: For all models that only have one speedometer fitted ex works Dual: For all models that have a speedometer and rev counter fitted ex works.When ordering, please specify your motorbike model + year of manufacture in the comments field (on the last page of the ordering process)! For Triumph Bobber & Speedmaster we also offer a mounting plate with which you can mount a Motogadget Tiny - Speedster - Vintage speedometer on the fork bridge (see accessory article in this description).For all other models, you will have to build your own plate. Note on grip heating: If the speedometer box is installed, the original grip heating will no longer work (an additional module is required for this). Motogadget. Break-Out Box. For connecting Motogadget instruments to the injection models with electronic speedometer. Tested by us for 2010/11+2012/13/14/15. Please state motorcycle type and chassis number when ordering! It does not need to be soldered, but must be connected consistently according to our enclosed instructions. The CAN bus installed in the Triumph models reacted immediately by refusing to work if the original instrument was no longer connected. This meant that the desired conversions were hardly possible at this point. The solution, especially for the Twins, is now exclusively available: the mo.tri from motogadget. In addition to information such as speed and rpm, the mo.tri also provides signals for indicator lights: Blinker left/right, tank reserve, fault memory, high beam, neutral, H2O hot, oil pressure. Some indicator lights on instruments with 4 or 5 LEDs have multiple functions. Another big advantage is the almost foolproof installation! The original connector is used and the cables for the instrument and indicator lights are connected to the terminals of the mo.tri using a color scheme. No soldering or searching for cables required. No intervention in the wiring harness. No loss of vehicle warranty. Fast Plug 'n Ride, it couldn't be easier.
