The large activated carbon filter on the R nineT Euro 4 (Pure / Roadster / Racer / Urban GS / Scrambler) is a thorn in the side for many of you. We felt exactly the same way when we built our latest Scrambler conversion. A bulky plastic box on the bike that adds nothing to the riding experience, but makes everything look cluttered and over-engineered.
So we’ve put together a small, simple kit that lets you easily get rid of the filter.
What does the filter do?
The activated carbon filter is supposed to filter the petrol vapours produced in the tank so they don’t end up in the environment unfiltered. Who needs that sort of thing? Unfortunately, yet another part that nobody really needs and that just looks rubbish.
The kit
With this kit, you can easily remove the filter without triggering any error messages or the like.
It doesn’t affect the emissions figures, so it’s very, very unlikely anyone will ever notice.
The kit contains all the materials you need, as well as detailed step-by-step installation instructions, which will allow you to remove the filter cartridge without any further work.
