The Akrapovic exhaust manifold is the perfect choice for anyone who wants their R12 to be a bit louder, but not too loud.
The problem as fitted from the factory is that, with the very large original catalytic converter in the exhaust manifold, the R12 never achieves a really nice sound that’s, above all, loud enough (those who like to hear something whilst riding will know exactly what we mean), even when riding without a rear silencer at all.
However, a manifold with no catalytic converter at all is simply too loud for the R12 and also rather conspicuous in appearance.
That’s exactly where the Akrapovic titanium manifold comes in. It no longer has a catalytic converter, but does feature a front silencer. This gives the bike a really lovely sound – it gets noticeably louder, but without being too loud.
The exhaust system is NOT type-approved for road use. However, thanks to the integrated pre-silencer, the exhaust looks as though it has a catalytic converter.
Performance & Weight
The manifold is 5.3 kg lighter and delivers 4.1 PS more power than the standard version.
Material & Appearance
As is customary with Akrapovic, this exhaust system is a truly premium product, crafted from high-quality titanium.
The matt titanium finish suits the motorbike much better than the glossy original exhaust system.
Fitting / Error message on the speedometer
To prevent the speedometer from displaying an error message (due to the missing catalytic converter), an additional module is required.
