Dakar skid plate from Classicbike-Raisch for the BMW R12 G/S – R12 nineT – R12

Probably the most robust skid plate for the BMW R12 that you can buy on the aftermarket. 
And all without looking the slightest bit clunky. Thanks to the numerous intricate bends and welded components, the wide engine guard fits perfectly against the motorbike and between the exhaust manifolds, so that its substantial size is barely noticeable.

Material & Manufacture

The underrun protection is made entirely in Germany. It is laser-cut and folded at one of our partner companies in the region, then welded in-house, with all weld seams meticulously ground down afterwards.
The precise manufacturing ensures an excellent fit, which makes installation easier.
The guard is made from 3 mm aluminium. This is the perfect thickness, offering sufficient protection without being unnecessarily heavy. Furthermore, aluminium is weather-resistant and cannot rust.

Protection & Design

The engine guard not only looks rugged and stylish, it also provides genuine protection for your engine, frame and all other vital components in the lower section of the motorbike should you ever take a tumble. It’s definitely more than just a stone guard!
A proper scrambler look definitely calls for a solid engine guard, and that’s exactly what you get with the Dakar Protector.

Fitting

Fitting is quick and easy. All the necessary fitting materials and a fitting guide are included in the delivery.

Can be fitted alongside the original BMW engine guards.

Finishes

- Black powder-coated: The engine guard is powder-coated in black after welding, giving it an attractive, deep black finish.
- Raw aluminium: The aluminium remains untreated. You then have the option of leaving it as it is or, for example, brushing it to achieve an attractive finish.
