The original steering damper on BMW R12 models is too stiff and, moreover, cannot be adjusted.
This makes turning feel more cumbersome than it really needs to be.

With the adjustable Öhlins steering damper, you can noticeably improve the handling of your R12. The ability to adjust the damping to suit your individual preferences allows you to tailor the bike’s handling precisely to your liking. We recommend a softer setting, as this makes the motorbike feel significantly lighter and more agile to ride.

If you’d like to experience the difference for yourself, you can remove the original damper on a trial basis and take it for a short spin. After just a few metres, you’ll notice just how much the standard damper affects the bike’s handling. Of course, you should not ride without a steering damper on a permanent basis, as this will invalidate the motorbike’s roadworthiness certificate.

All brackets and fitting materials for quick and easy installation are, of course, included in the scope of delivery.
