Wilbers fork springs - BMW R12

Product information "Wilbers fork springs - BMW R12"

Wilbers fork springs Zero Friction for BMW R12
with ABE

The BMW R12 comes from the factory with a very short spring travel of just 90 mm at the front.
Doesn't sound tragic at first - but in practice this means that the fork quickly reaches its limits.

This results in the following problems in practice:

  • Too much negative suspension travel
  • Air chamber volume too small

  • Only a small part of the travel can be used comfortably

  • This leads to the fork bottoming out relatively quickly.

This is exactly where the Wilbers fork springs come in. Thanks to the adapted spring, optimised preload and a larger air chamber, the short stroke of the fork is optimally utilised.

Your advantages with Wilbers fork springs
  • Better response behaviour - the fork reacts more sensitively and in a more controlled manner

  • More comfort - can also be used on poor tarmac

  • No bottoming out - the suspension travel is utilised more effectively

  • Fitting - fitting instructions are supplied with the bike. If you are not confident enough to carry out such a conversion, you are welcome to contact us and have the conversion carried out in our workshop.

  • ABE - With road licence (does not have to be registered)

Additional accessories

  • Wilbers fork oil - New fork oil is required to refill the fork. You can find suitable Wilbers oil under the accessory products below the product description. We recommend 7.5 oil for the R12
  • Suspension strut - If you want to have a perfectly functioning suspension system tailored to your needs and weight, we also recommend installing a Wilbers suspension strut (see accessory products)

Wilbers fork oil CB12922 / RS601
Wilbers fork oil - high performance for your fork Many people think: Fork oil is just fork oil. Wrong! Today's forks - whether with open or closed cartridges - work with high-precision, shim-controlled pistons. To ensure that the suspension responds cleanly and works reliably, you need a high-quality fork oil that is precisely matched to modern systems. We recommend When converting to Wilbers fork springs or fork cartridges, we always recommend using the appropriate Wilbers fork oil in the right viscosity (we always give you the right viscosity in the description of the respective product).
