Like most metal parts on the R9T's, the footrest carrier plate and the heel guard also have the unsightly die-cast surface, which doesn't look very classy. But we can also powder coat these in black!
Many would like to have a black footrest system. The first consideration would be a completely new footrest system, e.g. from LSL or Rizoma, which is clearly the best solution. But if that is too expensive for you, you can get an inexpensive alternative by having the carrier plate and the heel guard coated in black, ordering black footrests and, if necessary, a black gear lever (you can find suitable items under the accessory products in this description).
You simply send us your two footrest carrier plates + heel guard on the right, we sandblast them, tape off all the areas that need to remain free and coat them black (RAL9005)
The brake light switch is attached to the footrest carrier plate ex works with 2 grooved nails. These must be drilled out for coating and then hammered in again (you can order new dowel pins, see accessories in this description). If you do not want to do this work yourself, you can order the article "Drill out / hammer in notched nails R9T carrier plate" (see accessories article).
Please send the footrest system completely disassembled! In other words, remove footrests, levers, etc. everything.
It will take approx. 4 - 6 weeks until you have your part coated in black again.
Like most metal parts on the R9T's, the shift levers have the unsightly die-cast surface, which doesn't look very classy. But we can also powder coat them black for you!
