Magura HC-3 BMW R9T brake / clutch kit

The Magura HC-3 pumps are probably one of the best-known brake/clutch controls on the market. What makes them so special is that they have the option of adjusting the hand lever feel (the force that has to be applied when pulling) in 3 variants thanks to a sophisticated adjustment system. This has the effect of increasing or decreasing the piston diameter of the pump by 1 mm.

The fitting and lever are made of milled aluminium.
The pumps are available in either gold or black. The lever is a light, black lever that can be folded.

In other words, we supply the kit:

• The Magura HC-3 brake / clutch assembly
• Brake / clutch lines (suitable for the original handlebars & all accessory handlebars from our range. If you have stubs on your motorbike, please contact us and we will supply you with shorter lines). The services are completely black.
• Brake fluid for the brake kit
• Clutch fluid for the clutch kit / We supply special silicone-based fluid that is compatible with both the motorbike's clutch system and the fitting.
• Fitting instructions

We supply:

• In the clutch kit: 15mm pump (which can be adjusted down to 14mm and up to 16mm thanks to its integrated adjustment).
• In the brake kit: 18mm pump (which can be adjusted down to 17mm and up to 19mm thanks to its integrated adjustment).

The fittings are supplied from the factory with 2 small red applications (see photos). If you don't like this, you can order a black or silver colour kit and easily replace them (see accessories in this description).
The Magura fittings are supplied WITHOUT mirror mounts. If you want to fit normal mirrors, you need to order Magura mirror clamps (see accessory article in this description).

The brake pump is supplied with ABE. In other words, it only needs to be approved by the TÜV and not according to §21.
From Euro 4 models upwards, the ABE currently only states the 15mm pump. However, we have installed both the 15mm and the 18mm pump and found the pressure point of the 18mm version to be significantly better. However, registration of a larger pump should not be a problem (we can of course also supply the 15mm pump on request).
You can also find the ABE in the downloads section of this description. You could also use this to discuss the conversion with your TÜV inspector in advance.
The Euro 5 models are not yet included in the ABE (but will be added later), but registration according to §21 should not be a problem.

MILLED ALUMINIUM HOUSING

This fitting is made of high-quality aluminium, which results in a very high rigidity combined with low weight.

90° RADIAL DESIGN

The push rod and cylinder are at a 90° angle to the handlebar. This results in lower transmission losses and a more direct brake feel for better control.

ABS COMPATIBILITY

MAGURA HCT is suitable for use with all ABS systems currently on the market. (as of 01.2016)

3-WAY ADJUSTABLE LEVER BEARING POINT

Thanks to the adjustable lever bearing, the HC3 offers the option of making the hand lever feel harder or softer by simply changing the position of the lever bearing screw, which would correspond to changing the piston diameter by approx. 1 mm larger or smaller. All three settings offer 90° full-radial actuation.

CLAMP LEVER

Reduces the risk of damage in the event of a fall or drop. The function is retained.

ADVANCED SEAL TECHNOLOGY

This innovative technology reduces or prevents the ingress of air into the hydraulic system. This can be the case under extreme conditions, such as those encountered in racing.

EXPANSION TANK KIT

The fitting is supplied with an external expansion tank and associated holder. The smoked glass used allows the fluid level to be checked easily at any time.

TITANIUM FASTENING SCREWS

Wherever possible and sensible, MAGURA has used titanium as a material. Titanium is lightweight and corrosion-resistant.

• 3-way adjustable lever bearing (corresponds to ± 1 mm hydraulic change)
