The original shock absorber on the Bobber and Speedmaster is simply far too hard and very uncomfortable (it also has no negative suspension travel).
To avoid getting hit in the back with every small bump (which happens very quickly with the sitting position / body posture on the motorbike in conjunction with a bad shock absorber), you need to replace your shock absorber.

The shock absorber is supplied with ABE. It therefore does not have to be registered with the TÜV.

The shock absorber is customised to your weight and delivered with a perfect fit.
Production time approx. 1-2 working days (provided the shock absorber is in stock)



About the shock absorber

The Öhlins shock absorber is a high-quality separating piston damper and not an emulsion damper, as sold by some other manufacturers.

The spring preload (which is of course adjusted to your weight) is infinitely adjustable via the thread.

The rebound can be individually and very finely adjusted via the rotary wheel (clicks).



Shock absorber customised to you

Each Öhlins shock absorber is individually adjusted in-house to the rider's needs and weight and fitted with the appropriate setup.
We have different spring rates available from Öhlins so that the shock absorber can be perfectly customised for you.


It is therefore important that you tellus your weight and riding requirements (ready to ride with clothing) when ordering (in the comments field in the last step of the ordering process).

  • If you want an all-round good suspension on your Bobber, we recommend having a Cartidge installed in the fork (see accessory products below the product description)
  • Many Bobber riders complain that the footrests touch down too early. We offer a suspension lift for the shock absorber or a complete kit consisting of several parts. Both also work in combination with the Wilbers shock absorber. See accessories below the description.

Raisch Fork Cartridge Kit CB10969.1M.1 / RS-3
Model: Bobber 16" / Bobber Black
RAISCH fork cartridge conversion for various Triumph Modern Classic models. We completely convert your fork to a valve-controlled system with new fork springs (adjusted to the rider's weight). This transforms the simple standard fork, which partly works according to the old two-tube system, into a state-of-the-art fork with a fully adjustable cartridge system. The Speed Twin Euro 5 models are fitted with an upside-down fork ex works, but this does not work very well either (see some test reports in motorcycle magazines). Unfortunately, the standard fork is very tough and stiff. With our cartridge conversion, the fork works much more smoothly and sensitively, resulting in a great increase in comfort without sacrificing sportiness and performance, The rebound and compression damping are fully adjustable. The so-called rebound and compression damping is responsible for the rebound and compression speed of the fork. This means that the fork can really be adjusted to all conditions from soft to sporty and firm with just a few turns of the adjusters, resulting in a completely new riding experience. The adjustment range of the rebound and compression damping can really be described as large and effective, which is not really the case with all forks on the market. This conversion must be carried out by a specialist workshop with the appropriate expertise and special tools (e.g. a lathe is required for some models). For this reason, we only offer this conversion as a complete conversion in-house, including parts. You send us the two original damper tubes and everything is sent back to us ready for installation with new oil seals and special Öhlins oil for cartridge forks. Note on the Bobber / Speedmaster:On these motorcycles, the fork is lengthened by 10 mm when the cartridge is fitted. This slightly improves the lean angle clearance of your Triumph. If this is important to you or you need more ground clearance and lean angle clearance, we recommend our lift kit (can be found under accessories in this product description).   The price includes the installation of the cartridge at our premises!

22mm fork cartridge from Öhlins for the Triumph Bobber.We completely convert your fork to a valve controlled system with Öhlins fork springs. The rebound, compression and spring preload are fully adjustable. This rebound and compression stage is responsible for the spring out and compression speed. Thus the fork can really be adjusted to all conditions from soft to sporty tight only by a few revolutions at the adjusters, and results in such a completely new driving feeling. The adjustment range of the rebound and compression stage can really be described as large and effective, which is not really the case with all forks on the market. Assembly instructions are included in the kit. But you should have some knowledge about chassis technology!We are happy to carry out the conversion at our own Öhlins Service Center.
