Improved seating position and driving experience
In addition to the visual enhancement, the tank also improves the driving experience of your BMW. The original tank of the R nineT models is quite long, which means that the distance to the handlebars is too great. Many drivers report a limited feeling for the front wheel and less confidence in the driving dynamics, as well as back pain due to the seating position. With the shorter /7 tank, such problems are a thing of the past! We have already converted a few R9T motorcycles in our workshop to the /7 tank. All of our employees who have test-driven a converted machine were thrilled with the new driving experience and the more comfortable (no longer forward-leaning) seating position.
Easy assembly with instructions
Installing the tank is straightforward and, thanks to the included assembly video, even beginners can do it. The original components such as the fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel cap are reused. However, for an even more stylish overall look, we recommend installing a Monza fuel cap, which perfectly rounds off the design.

The /7 fuel tank has a capacity of 18.5 liters.The original reserve indicator in the speedometer continues to work as usual. The tank is 2 kg lighter than the original.
BMW R12 The Line Frame Plates Set.
These beautiful plates, milled from aluminium and with a discreet bmw logo, replace the original plastic emblems on the frame of your BMW R12 / R12 nineT.
The Line emblems are anodised in black and then a very fine milling head is used to mill the The Line design, which is then discreetly visible in silver.
Matching tank emblems are also available for the BMW in the same design (see accessories in this product description).
The set consists of one plate for the left and one for the right side.

This kit ensures a significantly shorter, tidier rear end and replaces the original, long plastic licence plate holder. The kit contains everything you need to convert the rear as shown in the pictures:
Aluminium rear lower shell: Black powder-coated, for a straight, flat rear line. It also acts as a splash guard and provides space for electronic components under the seat.
Black powder-coated indicator holder: Suitable for all accessory indicators with M8 thread.(Note: Original indicators cannot be used. M5 to M8 adapters are required for Kellermann Atto indicators).
3D-printed brackets: For securely fastening fuses and plugs under the seat.
Mounting materials: Including rubber sleeves for neat cable routing.

The exhaust flap closes and opens depending on the engine speed and throttle position in the standard state. This has an influence on the sound and draft.With the flap open, the sound is audibly more powerful, with the flap closed, it is quieter. The engine revs up a little more willingly and with more bite when the flap is open.The loud cold start of the EU5 model can be significantly reduced with the flap closed, which even pleases the neighbors.
Also very interesting for the guys with louder exhaust systems who come into an inspection... with the flap closed, even a loud exhaust becomes rather quiet.

The exhausts from Unit Garage are very well made and also sound more than awesome, which you wouldn't think at first glance with such a small silencer. But they really do! Really nice and throaty, muffled bass. The rear silencers are supplied with removable DB killers.If you want even more sound, we recommend the Unit Garage titanium manifold without KAT. As the R12 models are equipped with a very large catalytic converter ex works, which also swallows a lot of noise, the motorcycle cannot get much louder without a different rear silencer.
Due to its design, the exhaust system is very light and results in a weight saving of 2.4kg

The BMW R12 G/S definitely comes with a good suspension from the factory. However, this is of course not ideal (which suspension systems never are ex works, as a top-functioning suspension strut must always be customised to the rider's needs and weight).Recommendation: If you want a really great working suspension in your G/S and absolutely top performance, the Competition shock absorber is the right choice for you.It also makes sense to swap the shock absorber if you would like to lower or raise your R12 G/S a little (for visual or technical reasons) Each shock absorber is specially manufactured to customer order, perfectly matched. The delivery time is therefore approx. 10 - 20 working days.The shock absorbers come with ABE for your motorbike (so they do not have to be registered with the TÜV).

Model-specific Raisch recommendations for the R12 models
R12 nineT Our clear recommendation for the nineT is to order the shock absorber with length adjustment and maximum length.The original shock absorber from the factory is quite short and does not look very nice on the nineT. The rear end is clearly too low, which disturbs the side line. The higher rear makes the nineT look sportier (which the overall look of the motorbike also embodies) and the bike comes closer to the R nineT again. A visual flaw that many do not notice, but which makes a big difference.See pictures of the black nineTAn additional positive side effect is that the longer suspension strut gives the bike a little more ground clearance and the footrests touch down later when leaning.
R12 G/S
The G/S comes from the factory with a fairly long chassis, which suits the look of the bike and also fits the concept of the bike. The basic length is therefore initially very well chosen.If you want to emphasise the off-road look even more, you can make the suspension strut a little longer, which makes the motorbike a little higher.For riders who are not so tall and have problems getting their feet on the ground, we recommend ordering the shock a little shorter.
R12 Cruiser
Visually, the R12 is supposed to be a facaher curiser, which is why the basic length of the shock is very good from a visual point of view.If you are lacking a bit of lean angle freedom (pegs touching down too early), we recommend ordering the shock a little longer.

The paral strut from AC Schnitzer is the perfect upgrade if you want to noticeably improve the handling of your R 12 nineT and at the same time improve the look by raising the rear.
Thanks to the option of adjusting the length of the strut, the rear of the R 12 is visibly higher. This not only makes it look sportier, but also corrects the standard look - because the rear end sags a little at the factory, which gives the bike an unwanted chopper touch. Note: The rear light does not have an E-number/approval. However, in our experience, there are no problems with authorities because the rear light and turn signals are very visible.

Remus exhaust for BMW R12 / R12 nineT with ABE / road approval.
The Remus stainless steel exhaust system for the R12 is here. And this time, fortunately, in the popular stealth design that was previously available for the R nineT. As you would expect from Remus, the exhaust has a very high quality of workmanship and a very good fit. The conversion of the slip-on exhaust is very simple and quick.
Visually, the exhaust gives the nineT a tidier rear section and, above all, improves the view of the beautiful wheel rim.
The Remus Stealth exhaust doesn't have to hide in terms of sound either. The Remus sounds significantly muffled and somewhat throatier than the original.

Wilbers fork springs Zero Friction for BMW R12 with ABE
The BMW R12 comes from the factory with a very short spring travel of just 90 mm at the front. Doesn't sound tragic at first - but in practice this means that the fork quickly reaches its limits.
This results in the following problems in practice:
Too much negative suspension travel
Air chamber volume too small
Only a small part of the travel can be used comfortably
This leads to the fork bottoming out relatively quickly.
This is exactly where the Wilbers fork springs come in. Thanks to the adapted spring, optimised preload and a larger air chamber, the short stroke of the fork is optimally utilised.
