The exhaust flap closes and opens depending on the engine speed and throttle position in the standard state. This has an influence on the sound and draft.With the flap open, the sound is audibly more powerful, with the flap closed, it is quieter. The engine revs up a little more willingly and with more bite when the flap is open.The loud cold start of the EU5 model can be significantly reduced with the flap closed, which even pleases the neighbors.
Also very interesting for the guys with louder exhaust systems who come into an inspection... with the flap closed, even a loud exhaust becomes rather quiet.

The 2-1 high exhaust fits all models that have a factory-fitted under-slung exhaust when the original pillion/subframe is installed. If the original subframe is removed and replaced with the Unit Garage holder (must be purchased separately), then this exhaust also fits models that have a factory-fitted over-slung exhaust.
The above-lying 2-1 exhaust from Unit Garage in Italy is probably the most radical exhaust for the BMW R nineT series. The short, above-lying damper in GP style ensures a really free rear. The Under-Engine exhaust is probably the most minimalist exhaust you can get for the R12 / R12 nineT / R12 G/S. The short, clean design makes the rear end look much slimmer, and the eye falls directly on the beautiful single-sided swingarm and the rim.
The system ends directly under the motorbike and creates a really aggressive look with two full tailpipes on both sides. This cleaner really works wonders! We tested it ourselves in our workshop and could hardly believe how well and quickly the cleaner works (ideal for making manifolds and exhausts look like new again).After a few years, every beautiful stainless steel manifold that was once matt silver or polished no longer looks silver, but yellow.Simply spray such a manifold with the cleaner, wait 2-3 minutes and rinse with water. As if by magic, the manifold will look almost like new again, without grinding / rubbing or similar.
